On the east side of the Grote Markt, you can admire the late Gothic gabled facade of the monastery of the Grey Sisters. There used to be a patrician house here, adjacent to a Renaissance house that was converted into the inn De Gouden Leeuw halfway through the 17th century. In 1678, the Grey Sisters already lived in Roeselare, namely in the house 'Den Hert'. However, they purchased the inn in 1683, moving in two years later. In the still authentically preserved facade, there is a statue of Our Lady.
