Description

In Gerhagen-Tessenderlo there is a panoramic tower on 'the sand mountain', an old country dune. This was called 'the tourist tower of the sand mountain'. He gave a panoramic view of the sea of greenery in Gerhagen and punctured the prejudice that Tessenderlo is only 'grey of industry'. It was demolished in 1999 due to concrete rot. Then a new metal one was erected that is higher than the previous one: 18.75 meters and 100 steps. The VVV-Tessenderlo financed this second tower and subsequently handed over the building free of charge to the municipality of Tessenderlo, which is now the owner.
