In Braibant churchyard, this small chapel is considered a tomb of local historic interest , as an illustrious person is buried here.
Jean-Baptiste Julien d'Omalius d'Halloy, born in 1783 and died in 1875 at the age of 91, is known and recognized by his peers as the first person to geologically map the French Empire.
He also played an important political role at local level ( mayor of Skeuvre and then Braibant), provincial level and then national level ( governor of the province of Namur, councilor of state, senator, first vice president of the Senate).
