The clothmakers' houses no. 1-3 were probably built in 1744 for the Grand Ry family according to plans by the Aachen architect Johann Joseph Couven. Today the house belongs entirely to the Signon family.
The arched gable still contains a relief depicting the goddess of fortune Fortuna with trading symbols.
Little remains of the rich interior decoration, except for the staircase on the side, the 18th century baluster staircase. In the right corner is a carriage passage with a portal.
