Along the Promenade d'Orléans , four small rustic bridges span the Sauvenière River. The bridges are named after a painter .
The fourth bridge, near the Orléans monument , is dedicated to René Toussaint (1902-1971). This landscape artist lived almost his entire life near the source of Sauvenière , which he managed with his wife. He painted mainly the fagne de Malchamps and especially the undergrowth around La Sauvenière and La Hoëgne.
He was a pupil of Vital Keuller, after whom a bridge is also named.
