The watermill on the Dutch border was first mentioned in a document in 1331. It was demonstrably in episcopal possession in 1350. The building, located on the Alstätter Aa, was erected in 1619. A renovation by Peter Pictorius the Younger is documented by an inscription on the coat of arms of Prince-Bishop Clemens August.
The half-timbered building with brick infill stands on a solid stone base. The anchor beam construction was executed with curly knobs.
