Waditz, Sorbian, is a village with 56 inhabitants in the eastern Saxon district of Bautzen, which belongs to the municipality of Kubschütz. It counts as part of Upper Lusatia and is included in the official settlement area of the Sorbs.
The first mention occurs in 1250 when a Heinricus de Wadewitz is named in a document from the Bishop of Meissen. In 1376, a Hentschil de Wadewicz is mentioned in a document of the Bautzen cathedral chapter. Later designations of the place are Wadewitz, Watitz, and since 1791, Waditz.
