The Banque de France is located on the site of the Cordeliers Convent. The Cordeliers, Franciscan friars, arrived in Toulouse in 1222 and from the 13th to the 15th century built a large convent of which little remains today. The portal and the octagonal bell tower are visible from the street
The story goes that the crypt had the particularity of preserving corpses. The President of the Parliament of Toulouse, Jean Etienne Duranti was buried there in 1589.
