The Path of the Poets - Dìchterwaj

This original path was inaugurated on October 19 in the presence of numerous personalities from all over Alsace. The model that gave rise to the Dìchterwaj of Munster is located in Feldberg in Baden.

The principle is as follows: to walk around the city and the surroundings of Munster following a route that starts from the train station square and returns there, discovering along the way 31 panels that showcase the work of the main Alsatian poets through excerpts of poems in uff elsassisch, each accompanied by their translation.

Three panels present poems in hochdeutsch. One panel is affixed to the childhood home of Marcel Haedrich, and another that commemorates Jean Matter is placed on a tree on the street of the same name.

Designed by Edgar Zeidler and Yves Bisch, and transformed into a Münstérien project by Gérard Leser, this first Dìchterwaj of Alsace came to fruition thanks to the exemplary collaboration between the Society of History, the AGATE association which aims for the harmonized spelling of Alsatian dialects, the Vosges Club of the valley, the Banque Populaire, and the City of Munster.
