The Willem Tunnel is a tunnel for motorized traffic in the center of the Dutch city of Arnhem and was built in the year 2000. The tunnel was constructed after plans were developed from the Arnhem Central plan. This provided, among other things, that traffic around the center of Arnhem became one-way. The tunnel is therefore only one-way. In the middle, there is an underground split with access to the parking garage of Arnhem Central station. The total length of the tunnel is approximately 400 meters, of which 100 meters is covered. The tunnel starts at Willemsplein, goes under Nieuwe Plein, and ends at Roermondsplein. The tunnel frequently appears in the regional news due to accidents.
