The water tower in Laren was commissioned by Provincial Water Supply Company Noord-Holland designed by architect Wouter Hamdorff and was built in 1931-1933. According to the construction order, it was intended that the water tower would also serve as a viewing tower.
The tower is located on the Rijksweg West and is made of concrete and covered with mouth vowels. The water tower has a height of 35.65 meters and two water reservoirs of 500 m³ each.
