The Vrachelse Heide is one of the few forest plots north of Breda. The area is owned by the Ministry of Defence and is still used, albeit to a limited extent, by our army. In addition to traces of military use, there are still pieces of drifting sand and heathland to be seen. The soil is very poor and the natural value is therefore not very great. To curb the shifting sand, a lot of coniferous wood was planted around 1900.
