On top of the Wageningen Mountain is the old Wageningen football stadium. Originally the site was part of the Cortenbergh estate, but after Crommelin's death it was sold separately from the later Oranje Nassau's Oord estate.
In 1898, the site was first used as a location for the new Wageningen hippique competition. Shortly afterwards, the sports field turned into one of the first Dutch football fields and the now built stadium received a high rating as a sporty Wageningen landmark. Although FC Wageningen went bankrupt in 1992, the stadium has continued to exist as Wageningen heritage.
