Last updated April 19, 2024: Something went wrong in the second-to-last update on May 3, 2023: The route was poor in several places, i.e., bike paths along main roads were chosen, or the shortest route through residential areas was selected (among other places in Nederweert, Weert, between Montfort and Brachterbeek, near Schietecoven and close to Sluis 13). This has been corrected in the update of April 19, 2024.

From Someren to South Limburg via the Belgian side of the Meuse, then take the ferry to the Netherlands at Berg a/d Maas.
After that, you head towards Elsloo, descend the Maasberg over the cobblestones, and then come the climbs:
- Slingerberg
- Schieversberg
- Wijngaardsberg
- Terstraten
- Stammenderbos
- Schelberg
Through Germany (the Selfkant) you return towards the Netherlands and along the Wessem - Nederweert canal back towards Brabant.

Caution: In Germany, there are two economic roads (roads that are only permitted for agricultural traffic and residents) that are of somewhat poorer quality (namely the descent from Schlounerberg (Hillensberg) and just northwest of Tüddern (this one can even be quite bad)).

In the update of April 19, 2024, I decided to use the new concrete bike path over the dike of the Julianakanal just before Meers, so you no longer have to ride through the village of Meers.
