The parish church of Ponte de Lima is also called the church of Santa Maria dos Anjos .
The church dates from a temple built between the 12th and 13th centuries. The church was rebuilt in the 15th century.
Most of the sculptures inside date from the 18th century . The most important is on the south side of the transept and consists of a large altarpiece in the national style from 1729, dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows .
The neo-Gothic rose window was made in 1932, inspired by that of the São Francisco church in Porto.
