Situado en la comuna de Saint Etienne du Valdonnez, el estanque se encuentra en el corazón del Parque Nacional de las Cevenas y ha recibido la "Carta Europea de Turismo Sostenible". Para llegar, puede tomar la carretera D35 que une el Col de Montmirat con el Pont de Montvert. El estanque está abierto a la pesca del 1 de julio al 31 de agosto inclusive y los fines de semana y días festivos del 1 de mayo al 30 de junio.
