El canal Beukers-Steenwijk es la conexión navegable entre el Meppelerdiep y el Canal Steenwijk-Ossenzijl. Justo al sureste de Schutsloterwijde, el canal comienza en el Meppelerdiep y luego se dirige en dirección noroeste hacia la parte oriental de Belterwijde. A través del canal de navegación al este de Beulakerwijde, el canal sigue en dirección norte a lo largo de Giethoorn hasta Steenwijk. El canal desde el Meppelerdiep hasta el Zuideinde de Giethoorn se llama también Beukersgracht. Los canales secundarios en Giethoorn son el Jan Hozengracht, el Cornelisgracht y el Thijssengracht. Justo antes de la conexión con el Canal Steenwijk-Ossenzijl, al oeste de Steenwijk, el Steenwijkerdiep se une al canal.
