Le centre scolaire Saint-Remacle à Stavelot accueille 1200 enfants de la maternelle au collège.
Elle a été fondée par Dean Nyssen en 1856. Pour les étudiants germanophones, il y avait la « classe allemande ». Il y a aussi un internat. Les élèves les plus célèbres sont le curé Conrardy et le général Jacques de Dixmude (1858-1928).
Saint Remacle est né vers 600 et mort vers 669, et était un saint catholique et orthodoxe, fondateur de l'abbaye de Stavelot en 651 et premier abbé de l'abbaye de Solignac.
