Het schoolcentrum Saint-Remacle in Stavelot ontvangt 1200 kinderen van kleuterschool tot middelbare school.
Het werd door deken Nyssen gesticht in 1856. Voor de Duitstalige studenten was er ‘classe allemande’. Er is ook een internaat. De bekendste leerlingen zijn priestert Conrardy en generaal Jacques de Dixmude (1858-1928).
Saint Remacle is geboren rond 600 en gestorven rond 669, en was een katholieke en orthodoxe heilige, stichter van de abdij van Stavelot in 651 en eerste abt van de abdij van Solignac.
