Il centro scolastico Saint-Remacle a Stavelot accoglie 1200 bambini dalla scuola materna alla scuola superiore.
È stato fondato dal decano Nyssen nel 1856. Per gli studenti di lingua tedesca c'era la 'classe tedesca'. C'è anche un collegio. Gli alunni più famosi sono il prete Conrardy e il generale Jacques de Dixmude (1858-1928).
Saint Remacle nacque intorno al 600 e morì intorno al 669, ed era un santo cattolico e ortodosso, fondatore dell'abbazia di Stavelot nel 651 e primo abate dell'abbazia di Solignac.
