Le nom du château de Neubourg est mentionné dans un document de 1289. Ce château était cependant situé à un autre endroit, maintenant appelé burggraverhof. Vous passerez plus tard à côté. Le château actuel a été construit au XIVe siècle, le bâtiment se compose de 3 parties : la maison seigneuriale, la cour avant et la ferme. Après avoir eu plusieurs fonctions, il est maintenant en partie vide. Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, il a été utilisé comme quartier général de l'armée américaine. Le général Montgomery et la star de cinéma Clark Gable y ont séjourné. Même le tsar Pierre le Grand de Russie y a rendu visite le 17 juin 1721.
