5 février 1905 - L.P. Zocher, architect paysagiste d'Haarlem, a reçu la commande de créer un nouveau jardin dans le style paysager anglais en raison de diverses inondations dues aux tempêtes. La fonction de protection contre l'eau de la muraille de la ville dans le jardin a été renforcée par le déplacement du canal de la ville et le surélevement de la muraille. Cela a nécessité la création d'un nouveau jardin entre le bastion de Galgen et la porte de Cellesbroeder.
Sur l'image, le parc s'étend encore jusqu'au port extérieur.
