Le 23 septembre 1665, Christoph Bernard van Galen, prince-évêque de Münster, est venu à Losser avec une grande force. Le village a été presque complètement détruit. Les troupes se sont retirées mais se sont campées ici (41), restées devant le pont pendant plus de cinq mois. Et les Losernaren ont dû payer beaucoup de tribut tout ce temps.
