Tarmow si trova al margine del piccolo paese di Bellin, a sud del Rhinluch. Al limite occidentale del paese passa la strada statale L 16; un chilometro a ovest si snoda l'A 24.
Nel 1294 Tarmow è stato menzionato per la prima volta come Terme in un documento. È stato di proprietà dei vescovi di Havelberg per quasi trecento anni. Successivamente passò all'ufficio di Fehrbellin. Il nucleo storico del paese si trova attorno alla strada del villaggio.
