Op Square Place Churchill misleidt een gebouw je over zijn functie. Op het fronton staat "Paleis van Justitie", maar de geëmailleerde plaquette op het erfgoedpad van de stad vertelt je over de geschiedenis van dit gebouw: een kapucijnenklooster.
Kapucijner monniken uit Ierland vestigden zich in 1620 in Charleville. Op 12 januari 1625 zegende en wijdde de aartsbisschop van Reims het kerkgebouw in. Het oorspronkelijke klooster werd waarschijnlijk in de 18e eeuw afgebroken en vervangen door een tweede klooster, waarvan de bouw begon in 1782. Tijdens de Revolutie werd het klooster een gevangenis. Dit is vandaag de dag nog steeds de functie van het klooster.
