Molen De Welvaart werd in 1864 gebouwd in opdracht van Joseph Aerts. Het is een slanke, rechtopgaande korenmolen.
Na diverse malen van eigenaar te zijn gewisseld, werd molenknecht Leo Linssen in 1929 eigenaar van de molen.
Hij voerde een groot aantal verbeteringen door. Zo kocht Linssen een elektrisch aangedreven maalstoel om windstille perioden te kunnen opvangen.
