Cahors is het centrum van het gelijknamige wijngebied, gelegen aan de Lot. Heel bijzonder is de Pont Valentré, een verstevigde brug met 7 bogen en 3 torens, nu nog slechts toegankelijk voor voetgangers en fietsers. De kathedraal St. Etienne is een fraaie koepelkerk met delen uit de 12e en 13e eeuw. De boulevard Gambetta vormt een belangrijke ader van de stad, met veel terrasjes en chique winkels. Voor het doorsteken van Cahors adviseren we de volgende route door het centrum.
