Allerede siden midten af det 19. århundrede har der stået et lille lysthus her for at give vandrere et sted at hvile, med udsigt til landsbyen Bennekom. Den udsigt kan vi dog ikke længere nyde, da den er blevet helt skjult af bevoksningen. Desuden blev det i 2004 ikke kun restaureret, men også flyttet cirka 50 meter.
Efterkommere af dengang ejer, Albertus van Daalen, gav lysthuset i 1929 til VVV. Det må have været et elsket sted, da det optræder på forskellige gamle postkort.
