As with many rural lambic breweries, the origins of Brewery De Troch also lie with a farm. On July 30, 1795, Anna Van der Elst sold her leasehold farm to Joannes Franciscus De Troch and his wife Theresia Cortvriendt. The exact start of brewing activities at this farm cannot be traced anymore, but a cadastral plan from 1820 does mention a farm-chicory roastery-brewery.
In the early 1980s, Brewery De Troch caused quite a stir in the world of gueuze by being the first to launch an exotic beer: a lambic with banana and mango.
