This mural depicts the story of the local neighborhood. David Duits has colored a complete wall in this alley.
The local café, referring to Brouwerij Omer Vander Ghinste, was the central point at that time. The nearby building that served as a fire station is incorporated into the image of this cité. This large building with a fire tower was renovated by the City of Kortrijk and houses the current Deelfabriek.
The history goes back to 1875, when a former courtyard of 10 workers' houses was erected under the name "Vuylstekens cité" by the client Albert Vuylsteke.
*This alley connects the bike path that runs along the railway with Sint-Antoniusstraat.
