De kerk van San Miguel de Jerez is een prachtige tempel gebouwd in de 15e tot 18e eeuw. Het bevat elementen van de drie grote bouwstijlen van elk tijdperk: gotiek, renaissance en barok.
Binnenin is er een tabernakelkapel met daarop een achthoekige koepel. Van belang zijn het het tabernakel, het Heilige Kruisbeeld van Gezondheid en de processiemonstrans (Een monstrans is een houder, gewoonlijk van goud, waarin de geconsacreerde hostie wordt getoond).
Het grote hoofdaltaarstuk op een vijfzijdige apsis en geheel in hout, werd tussen 1601 en 1649 grotendeels ontworpen en uitgevoerd door de prestigieuze beeldmaker Juan Martínez Montañés , later voortgezet door José de Arce tussen 1641 en 1655.
