In 1978, a strategic purchase of land by the pioneers of Limburgs Landschap vzw prevented the construction of the Bosbeek. As a result, the landscape restoration started and the great natural value of the area was preserved.
In total, there were once sixteen windmills along the Bosbeek. To the east of Tösch is the Wurfeldermolen. The first mill on that site probably dates from before 1437. The mill has served as a fulling mill (to fill wool), as a bark mill (to grind oak bark for tannic acid), as a paper mill and flour mill.
